Self-esteem is a psychological concept that most people are very familiar with, and for good reason. The positive and negative feelings we hold towards ourselves impact our mental and physical health, as well as our future success. In this lecture, Dr. Jessie Joyce, Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology, will discuss factors that impact self-esteem, how self-esteem is measured and studied by psychologists, and how gender, age and culture all affect self-esteem levels.
