Funky Physics Close to the Speed of Light (Virtual Sample Class)

Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PMEastern Standard Time

Einstein knocked out Newton’s view of the world when he postulated that the speed of light was constant in all frames of references. Mechanics has never been the same, yet Einstein’s ideas have been verified repeatedly and used in technologies such as satellites and GPS. In this class, Professor Jenny Ross will lead a brief discussion of special relativity and practice some problems that reveal the weird nature of life moving close to the speed of light.
