Meet the Speaker
Jeffrey Rubin
Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer
Professor of Practice, School of Information Studies (iSchool)
Jeffrey Rubin is Syracuse University’s inaugural Senior Vice President for Digital Transformation and Chief Digital Officer, and a Professor of Practice in the iSchool. In this role, he oversees the Information Technology Services team and leads the University’s digital transformation efforts, focusing on digital innovation, data strategy, and the integration of artificial intelligence in higher education.
Rubin began at Syracuse as an undergraduate in 1991 and has been an iSchool faculty member since 1996. He teaches over 500 students annually and is also the founder of SIDEARM Sports, which became the nation’s leading digital fan engagement platform for college athletics. After its acquisition by Learfield in 2014, Rubin served as Executive Vice President of Digital, leading over 200 employees and expanding SIDEARM to serve more than 95% of NCAA Division I institutions.
Today, Rubin guides Syracuse University’s vision for digital transformation, ensuring that campus life is smarter, more connected, and more innovative for the Orange community.
